Vintyri Symbol Set 2 V1.1 Final CC3+/CC3 Release- Sweeping Changes

Newcomer
Today, we released the final Version 1.1 of the Vintyri Symbol Set 2 with wide-reaching changes over the last pre-release version. We strongly urge all who downloaded the pre-release version to download and install the update. The main change is the replacement of ALL 286 symbols with new versions that restore the color depth of the originals. Rather than talking a lot about that, I'll refer you to the graphic below, whoich shows the difference.
That's the most visible change, but many other things also have changed since the last pre-release version:
1. All of the mostly small errors on catalog level and in the CC3 registry entries have been corrected.
2. The installation has been greatly simplified.
3. The symbol (.PNG file) download has been split for the benefit of those who have less than ideal Internet service.
Judging from our E-Mail, no small number of CC3 and CC3+ users have such service.
4. A totally revised version of the .PDF user manual. We strongly urge you to download it before you download or install the Vintyri Symbol Set files. It will save you a lot of trouble. For the first time, the manual also includes important information for Windows 10 users.
If you're uncertain whether this package is of interest, you can preview the content here:

For some this page may be a bit confusing because of the various download options. If you're not certain what to do, check the PDF, which has step-for-step instructions illustrated with screen shots.
Finally, our heartfelt thanks to the users who made the suggestions and pointed out the errors that led to this final release of Version 1.1.

Project Update: Vintyri Symbol Set 3 for CC3+ and CC3 is finished. The CC3+/CC3 version of this set never has been available yet. Two alpha test reports are due tonight. If no major problems are reported, we'll be releasing an open beta of Vintyri Symbol Set 3 for free download tomorrow (Sunday) or Monday. We'll announce it here.

Mark are the downloads working correctly for the part 1 & Part 2 Symbol collection zips. I'm getting download failed when I get to a little over 500 MB done and I can't resume the download. Not sure if this is due to my connection, a problem with the downloads, or if the files are getting alot of downloads currently.
I tried twice on Firefox at a libary.
I'll try again tomorrow.
Before I posted, I made test downloads and also had a couple of alpha testers do the same for me. My Internet connection is per LTE (UHF) rather than via telephone lines. The cold December type rainy weather we're having has been causing occasional interruptions in the transmissions here. I got Part 2 on the first try but Part 1 only on the third try. My alpha testers seems to have gotten the files without trouble. Seeing that we and JimP got the files in the end, the problems appear to be somewhere between the German Telekom server and the receiving end. Downloading files that are more than a gigabyte in size still is a very weak point in today's Internet communications. I would like very much to hear how many people are having these problems. If it's widespread, it might be better in the future for me to break these downloads into a number of smaller files. With Vintyri Symbol Set 2 I could have - for instance - broken things down into five ZIP files at roughly 500 MB each. The transmission interruptions are something that are beyond my control, but if most users would prefer a number of smaller ZIP files, that's no problem for me to do things that way. Let me know.
Thanks for the input.

I'm in the same time zone as Jim
I went to a coffee shop today and tried again.
I got Part 1 with it stopping at at around 900MB, but I was able to resume the download and got the file finally. I had to resume the download several times due to failures.
Part 2 failed at about 400 MB and I was able to resume the download. Part 2 keep failing multiple times and too and took forever to download because of this. All the failures occurred at around 400 MB after 80 minutes of constant failing after 30 seconds to 1 minute of downloading on each resume download it downloaded with no failures for the rest of the file.
I'm not sure though if I have all of Part 2 as the download finished and the zip is only 1.15 GB instead of 1.25 GB as the web site says it is supposed to be.
Can you confirm the zip size for Part 2?
With Regards to the Symbols Set 3 Beta large downloads
Part 1 failed multiple times but I was able to recover and resume the download.
Part 2 downloaded with no failures
I think some sort of net congestion or similar problem is going on as I had a similar problem getting an earlier build of Symbol Set 2 when that build was released and wasn't able to download it till a few days after it was released.
It took me about 5 hours to get all the files due to the constant failures and I'm at at a place with high speed net access. Download time would have taken about 90
minutes to 2 hours if it wasn't for the constant failures.
For the record, I don't think I've ever had any problems downloading any of the files you have posted, your webhost seems very reliable and stable to me.
I selected Windows Explorer for these file sizes.
part 2: 1,214,400kb
part 1: 1,150,636kb
cc3.zip: 25,19kb
cc3plus.zip: 25,633kb
install.pdf: 26,375kb
edit:
Note that different Windows versions using Windows Explorer might give slightly different results.
However, the one thing that I can do is split the downloads up into smaller files. That makes the likelihood of any single download being interrupted smaller. However, it isn't a popular step. In 2009, when I released the first Dundjinni version of some of our symbol sets, which also ran at gigabyte levels, I received all kinds of mail from folks having download problems. I split the downloads up then into several smaller files and got no more trouble reports but instead complaints from other users who hated having to download multiple files instead of getting everything in one big file.
If I learn here and in E-Mail that a significant number if people are having download problems, I will use that option and split the download into multiple files, hoping that users who have no download problems will show a bit of solidarity with those who are having such problems. I'd like very much to keep everyone happy. I think the folks who use ProFantasy products and our products that enhance ProFantasy's products are a great crew, and I want everyone who is interested in our products to be able to get them without difficulty. If split files are the only way I can do that, that's the option I'll choose.
I particularly appreciate the suggestions that Remy Monsen made. As always, they're excellent. Everyone here also should know that these packages would be much less user friendly if it hadn't been for the really excellent suggestions that Remy made during the development process. I checked things this morning, and the byte totals on the German Telekom server as seen through my FTP loader are 100% identical with those shown in the Windows Explorer of Windows 7 Ultimate and Windows XP Pro and in the File Explorer of Windows 10 on the three machines here in my office. The potential problem that JimP mentioned above didn't occur, although that is not to say that they wouldn't occur in some cases.
Once I post this message I'll do exactly what Remy suggested and add the exact byte totals to the download page. That may offer a worthwhile proof sum to sum of you.
Please keep informing me of any problems that any of you have. Only when I get this information from you can I hope to succeed in my goal of making things work as well as possible. Once I update the home page, I'll get back to working on the CC3+/CC3 conversions of Vintyri Symbol Set 4. It will be nearly twice the size of the Vintyri Symbol Set 3 download, so I'll need to make some decisions on file splitting before it goes online (hopefully in December).

I've tried 4 times now and every time it gets almost to the end then stops with an error message that the reported file size doesn't match the actual file size.
Any ideas on how to get this file?
I just grabbed that file from the server to test, and it downloads just fine for me. The integrity of the archive is fine, and the file size is correct, so it seems like everything is ok with the file on the download server. Looks like the problem is either at your end, or with the path through the net to your location, maybe at your ISP.
I recommend trying another browser, rebooting your computer, disconnecting and reconnecting your internet connection, trying a different computer or if all of that fails, trying to download it at a friends house or public library.
I tried a different browser (Chrome), then realised that in both my browsers I have download managers installed. So, I bypassed the download manager and the file downloaded just fine.
