I'm looking at several ideas to redraw Dwarf Home. Here is one of them. No effects yet.
Does the general idea look okay ? Thats a curtain in the upper passage.
background: Bricks, white stone
room/passageway: walls: Tile Persian Glass, floor: solid 20 bmp, Square grid 10'

Besides, rooms shaped oddly drives my players to distraction... :-)
As for your walls, the persian glass tile looks awfully fancy for walls. Is this a material/style your dwarves normally use?
The solid 20 fills for the floors is quite nice, since it preserves the look of the background rock, although it does feel weird to me that the floor is basically raw rock, while the walls are really fancy.
With that 20 bmp for the room and corridor floors, you can see the bedrock type through it.
Haven't really decided what kind of rock layers are in/under Dwarf Home. Likely granite. Could have some other kinds of rock, like limestone.
Fancy walls in the Royal areas, these cobblestones in lesser areas, and plain rock in the common areas like smithys.
