New mapper and a bit confused - FT to CC3

Hi
Ok I have got FT3 and CC3 and CC3+ so my problem is at the moment, (I'm sure their will be others), trying to get the map from fractal terrians into CC3. I can export the map using the save function (though not sure which one is best for saving as CC3 maps as all tutorials are old and refer to save options that no longer exist, Pro Fantasy should update their video tuts). The issue is once i have got the map into cc3 i cannot adjust sheets or layers, as its all one layer. I am creating a map of earth using the binary option and then raising the water level 750 ft so that its earth after a ice melt.

Anyway if anyone can tell me how to do this so that i can export a ft map into cc3 and then be able to use that map and adjust sheets and effects etc that would be really helpful.

Thanks

P.s. Are their any written tutorials for using FT with CC3?

Most entities from FT ends up on the same sheet (Land (Contours) and Layer (Relief/Contours) because this is where they belong, but there shouldn't be anything preventing you from moving them to a different sheet/layer. To simplify editing, I usually prefer to turn off the option to multiply each contour level, as this makes each height level into one big entity which is harder to edit. You can change this by changing the CC3 export settings, when you go File -> Save Campaign Cartographer file, select your preferred export setting (Altitude High Detail is a good one if you only want the map, and not climate/weather data), hit edit, and on the 'Detail level' page of the wizard, make sure to set the detail level to max, and the turn off multipoly each contour level if on.
  • Ok thanks I have played around with the settings and have worked out what was going wrong so thanks for your advice it helped a lot, my next problem is with FT3, as I have raised the water level when I export the map the place their was land acts as if their still is land, so it acts on a separate sheet or something, so not sure if the water level isn't high enough so FT3 sees it as shallow or land still, so on the parts of the map that used to be land but is now covered in water their is a white area showing where the now submerged land used to be which is affecting things, how can I get rid of this so that where the land once was is now recognised as just water?

    Does that make sense?
