Making a Symbol Set

I want to make a symbol set of repeating grass tiles so that I can just click them down and it would randomize which ones it puts down. I know I've seen how to do this before, because I have a vague recollection on how to do it, but I must be missing something and I'm not seeing a thread on it. If anyone has seen the thread on how to do it could you point me that way?

Thanks,
Erdrix

I'm puzzled exactly what it is that you really want. It sounds like you want a randomized set of fill styles, although you use the word symbols. If CC3+/CC3 offers randomized fill styles it's news to me.

However, if you really do mean symbols, then you're getting into the more complex (but interesting!) levels of symbol creation. Anyone who enters that level of symbol creation absolutely and unequivocally needs Remy Monsen's excellent "Tome of Ultimate Mapping," which is available from the ProFantasy website.

Operations like this really aren't the right topic in my opinion for 1-2-3 forum answers. You need to get into the nitty gritty of symbol creation to learn all the peripheral things you need to know to do it right. That information is in the CC3 bible written by Remy. I wouldn't think of doing the symbol creation that we do without having the Tome at my side.

Do I understand correctly that you already have the tiles at hand and just want to create the catalog? Then maybe Johne Sweeney's Advanced Tutorials may be a help to you. Mr. Sweeney also has Tutorials on making Battlemap Tiles for D&D minis , if that's what you are looking for.
