City Map Help

I am very new to Campaign Cartographer, but am loving what I see.

I have a map that I want to spice up, with color and shadowing.

I created a sheet called PNG and placed the map image on this layer. I was going to redraw the map with CC3+, by tracing the existing map and adding objects, and at the end delete the PNG sheet. Is this the best way to go about this? I am open to any suggestions.

That's a really neat looking, if fear inducingly structurally unsound, city! I think your plan is probably a good one but I haven't played with City Designer much yet.

Yes, this is a good way of doing this.
Do make sure that your PNG sheet is near the top of the sheets list, so that everything you draw ens up on top of it. Also remember that you can hide individual sheets, so if you draw a large polygon (like the background for a park) that hides details on your PNG sheet, just draw it, then hide that sheet while working on other details you need to see the PNG sheet for. As an alternative, you can also temporaily use a transparency effect on such sheets if you work with effects on.

I recently did the same thing. Using an existing map makes your mapping go sooooo much faster. These images are close to final. I'd like to do something outside the city walls and add the tent village and caravan grounds, but I ran out of energy.
