cc3+ map printing

I am having an issue where I tell CC3+ to print the visible window, as you can see from the two images, what is on the screen doesn't match what is printed, There seems to be a margin added at top and right, how do i fix it so that it maxes out the image?

The white border to the top/left are just because of printer margins, CC3(+) uses the margins reported by your printer driver.

There does seem to be quite a bit missing from the printout as compared with the visible window however. What are your print settings? Have you set CC3+ to fit the drawing on one page, or are you using some sort of scale setup here? In the latter case, you need to make sure you set up the tiles correctly, otherwise CC3+ will only print the first tile in the set and leave the rest.

    hmm.. Those look fine.

Looking at the printout, I notice that noting is missing from top/bottom, only from the sides.

I am going out on a limb here and make a guess, but it seems to me like CC3+ fits the height of the map on the paper, then fills in as much as there is actually room for in the other direction. This ensures that the paper get filled, but you may lose data on the edges.

As a workaround, you can export just the section in the view by saving it as a rectangular PNG, and printing it from any image viewer. (Make sure to enable 'crop to aspect ratio' in this case, otherwise it will grab more of the view to fit within whatever image dimensions you specify).
You could also try to set a correct scale factor in the CC3 print dialog instead of using fiot to page, but that is more of a hazzle to measure correctly when you just want to fit it to a sheet of paper.

I can't tell you anything more than that, perhaps someone from ProFantasy knows a bit more technical info on how exactly the print area is calculated.

I had the same problem with mine when I did some test printing for scale.

I was losing the right side of the map.

I went into my properties (top right corner of your picture).

Under the Quick Setup Tab I had A4 for paper printer size.

I clicked on it and changed it to 8.5 x 11 and then printed.

It came out great with nothing missing.

I also chose High Print Quality for really cool maps that blow away what I have on my actual computer screen.

After I did that, it printed just fine.

    I hope this helps!

  • I changed mine from a4 to letter and that fixed the top, still not printing the right side though. Letter is supposed to be 8.5x11 but it wont do it.

My various job related problems with ink jet printers, I suggest 'fit to page'. Should be under the Properties button.
  • I went back and experimented with printing again.

It did not work like I thought it did.

It is just like what Mako1975 says: It is fixed on the top, but it is still missing part of the map on the right side.

    Very annoying
