Land Outline prob

So very new to this, I'm following Mr Sweeney's tutorial on youtube. On the Step where he's putting the lines around his islands, but mine start a bit away from the land, leaving a blue line in between the land and where the black outline starts. Any help on how to fix this is appreciated.

You could probably try zooming in more to place the lines or you might have access to the lovely trace feature. Look at the bottom command area or the tool tip to see if it mentions trace.

Are you using the CC3/CC3+ standard overland template? That blue coast line can cause problems. I don't know if it's causing your particular problem, but I had to get rid of it. Having deleted it*, I then applied Sweeney's techniques and got a coastline I liked much better than the blue line.
