Reference bitmap?

Is there a way to import a bitmap image as a reference for roughly tracing a new map? I have some hand drawn maps that have been scanned which I would like to use as a starting point. Thanks!

Yes, of course! Save the hand drawn map as a png file, preferably in the same folder as your map. Then do a Draw > Insert File and place the png in your drawing.
  • Here is what I do:
    1) Make sure you get the scale of the map you are tracing correct (example- 600 feet by 800 feet). You can work in bmp or png
    2) New Map (user defined settings). Set scale to above measurements
    3) Create new sheet (I call mine import)
    4) Set layer to GM (or create one)
    5) Draw -> Insert File (move from left bottom to right top)
    6) Trace (make sure to change layer and sheet)

By putting it on it's own sheet, you can move it up or down the drawing to trace certain parts. When you are done, simply hide the sheet.
