Tips for saving and printing a 24"x36" poster map?

I would like to save and print a rectangular section of my large world map.

If my ultimate goal is to send a 24-inch by 36-inch JPEG to the printer, how should I best use the "SAVE AS" feature on my CC3 map? Should I use "save as rectangular jpg"? What are my pixel dimensions, assuming the printer requires 300-dpi image?

Thank you!

  • Don't use JPG - you will get noticeable compression artifacts. PNG would be a better option if you want to use a raster format. Even better would be some form of vector format - eps or ps encapsulated in a PDF, see if your printer can output DWG or EMF.

    300dpi x( 24in x 36in) = 7200x10800 for your final resolution.
