Map Hosting

In the past I've used Obsidian Portal to host my maps, which is nice since they let you post markers that link to your wiki and have pages for characters and logs. But the map I'm currently working on is much bigger then the ones I've down in the past and Obsidian Portal only allows you to zoom in so far and limits the file size. I've done quite a few Google searches over the last few days but I haven't turned up anything. Does anyone know of a site to host custom maps? I do not really care if it doesn't have markers or things like that, since I have labeled things on the map anyway and still plan to use obsidian portal for the wiki ext. I tried some image hosting sites but none of them would let me zoom in on the map. If anyone has suggestions I would gladly welcome them.

    Check out how this link works...I use minus.com to link to maps for my Obsidian Portal page.

    The code on the OP page lets me click once for the map, then click again for a huuuuuge zooom in. (At least it works for the browsers I and my friends use, as they report.)

    Try going down to the bottom of the page and clicking on the overland map.

    Please favorite the campaign while you are there.../grin.
  • It works on my browser as well so that is a good idea. Thank you.

    Side question. What template did you use to create that map?

    Its a combination of several, with the base land color changed to a neutral tan. (so terrain stands out).

    Let me see if I can remember....(10 minutes later)

    Most of it patched together from bitmaps,drawing tools, etc from several annuals.

    Mainly;

    #26, Fantasy Realms, base concept, mountain style (I use the mountain symbol to place the various ranges, hitting tab and resizing and rotating gave me enough variation to replicate my homebrew world's previous maps. A few places I had to manually draw the base mountain, the mountain shading, and the ridgelines.)

    #28 Bitmap fills and styles for hills, forests, and some other terrains.

    I am pretty sure the settlement icons are from CA 69, 13th Age style.

    I also use some random bitmaps fills for various terrain, I just browsed my annual folder's bitmaps until I saw something I liked.

    All of these bitmaps have been put in a new folder under tile/overland, so I can do an import bitmaps styles on them.
    Still working on defining drawing tools and making symbols load automagically, for a complete style solution. (doing it manually at the moment for a few things.)

    Here is the code on the page:

    <div class="mapbox"><a href="http://i.minus.com/ibwaNreCSlBQXR.PNG">
    <img src="http://i.minus.com/ibwaNreCSlBQXR.PNG" style="width: 100%;"/>
    </a>
