FINDING SYMBOLS DENOTING MINING

Hi, I'm starting to want more/different symbols for a map, specifically anything that would denote mining. Did a quick google just now and was unimmpressed with the results. Has anyone any suggestions? I'm looking for things like the top of a coal mine or similar. Looked at the cataloguess on here and cant see anything.

I hate being the dunce here, but what do you mean by the top of a coal mine? And just what kind of symbols relating to mining are you seeking? Some of us might be able to help you if we had a better idea what you want.

Something like the winch thing or the drill machine that was common in the 19th' century in UK [at any rate] or land-based oil mining @Vintyri.

You're into more modern mapping than we are, but I think you might find some of what you're seeking on the Dundjinni forums. Try both the fantasy forum:

I'd use not only key words like "winch" and "drill" but also go general with "mine" and such, perhaps even "machine."

It's actually a futuristic world but CC doesn't seem to go in for very basic symbols for just this one tiny bit of the map.

Found something on open clipart.org - free.

Now all I have to do is to work out how to import it!
