CC3+ Bug - Saving Fractalize Settings

I am not able to save my Fractalize settings in CC3+.
Click Fractalize; change settings; click save; enter save name; click OK ...Does not save.

I know that I keep reporting bugs, and I don't want it to seem like I'm looking for faults or like I'm complaining. I love this software and find Plus to be so much faster and smoother than the older version. I guess the fact that I AM finding bugs means that I'm using CC3+ rather than CC3. :D

  • I click on Fractalize. Type 20 in the Strength, click on Save. Type 20, Click on Save. Click Okay. Fractalize a multipoly. It works.

Save as the map. Exit CC3+. Open CC3+. The 20% Strength is gone. Map is still fractalized though.

  • This wasn't fixed in update 2.

I'm bumping this post, just in case it was missed.

If this is already on the "to be fixed" list, then forgive me for bumping. :)

Actually, it does save just fine. Problem is that it saves to the CC3+ configuration file (the new settings storage), but the dialog tries to read the list of saved settings from the registry (old CC2/CC3 way), so the dialog never picks up on your saved values. As a workaround, IF you are proficient in registry editing, you can just save the values you need, then basically make a registry entry for each entry from CC3PlusCfg.xml in the registry (Only name matters, the actual values are loaded from the config file, not the registry). Not exactly convenient, but it works if you have a few settings you wish to keep. Note that the registry is not somewhere you should play around in, so unless you are not 100% comfortable doing registry editing, don't do it, as you could easily mess up your windows installation seriously if you do something wrong.
  • I see. Thanks for that info Monsen! I think I'll just continue using the notes I've jotted down. Sometimes I just don't trust myself to type accurately.
