You can install both on your computer side by side, but do note that CC2 is not supported on modern versions of Windows (Vista and newer), so there will be some quirks. Also note that the last version of CC that were run takes over the file association for the map files, so you will usually need to open the appropriate program and use File -> Open to open up map files when running two different versions rather than double-clicking on map files to ensure you open the maps in the correct program.
You won't find much of interest in CC2 that you cannot do in CC3 though.
I seem to remember that at one time I opened a link which allowed me to change the building and scenery icons to different options than just CC3. I thought it was CC2, but I might be wrong.
What I am really looking for are different building and scenery options than shown on the CC3 list.
