Trouble with a symbol, total noob

Hey guys thanks for the time to answer this if you're able to I'd appreciate it so much! I'm really new to CC and I'm trying to edit a symbol I've got so many and no clue where they came from, an old high school teacher showed me CC but I've lost touch with him. Here is said symbol. As you can see it's some flagstone stairs, they've got walls. It's a 5x10 symbol, I can't even begin to guess where I got this set of symbols, and for some reason I don't have a 5x5 symbol of the stairs (not sure why). So I'm wondering, how do I remove the walls and also how can I make a 5x5 piece?

Side note: I've tried to follow the suggestions of finding the PNGs but I spent over 2 hours looking through all of my images, there are none, just the .fsc file that points to them. What do guys? :) Again thanks in advance!

  • Hi RinVindor.

Your symbol is not a raster symbol but a vector symbol.

It means that you won't find any png picture file associated with this symbol.

It also means that the the symbol is like a small CC3 file that you can edit:

    1. Place the symbol on you map to load it to the symbol manager.
    2. Click on the Symbol menu and select Symbol Manager
    3. Click on the Symbol then on the Clone button.
    4. Rename the clone Stairs 5' w 5l to be coherent with the other symbols.
    5. Click on the Edit button then define two opposite corner of a window box on your drawing area. A small map window appears where you can edit the entities with the Node Edit button or any other tool.
    6. One finish close the new map window by clicking on the red cross and save your symbol.

You might need to refresh the symbol list to use the new one.

    Hoping I'm clear...
