Ok, this is the picture now re-purposed into something more like a picture of an encounter area rather than a map, with the relative scales I think in better proportion.
It's still the same principles as before, but I like this a lot more.
I also like this one better, even if the dragon-like creature is a little bit hard to read. The mountains at the front are I believe a nice improvement.
But the grid is I think spoiling all the 3D effect you put in this picture. Have you tried with an isometric grid (for instance, the one here https://app.roll20.net/forum/post/1261/isometric-grid#post-11749) ? And maybe putting the mountains on top of the grid, so that it is only visible in the "flat" area?
I already think it is much better and less obtrusive, but it would be even better I think if you could make the lines follow the directions indicated by the castle walls. After all, this castle looks pretty square, and is the only reference to something geometric in this image.
I'll try to do that - it means losing the 90 degrees in the grid.
It's actually a mausoleum, BTW - well, I'm hoping I can get away with that. I couldn't find anything else suitable of the right style. It's where Lemaistre is buried (see previous map).

I surrounded the dragon in red to make it stand out. It's a white dragon in the adventure, and they're well camouflaged

I've also added a bit of snow to the far mountains to make them a bit less uniform.
