Drawing a castle with CC3
(not CC3 + yet :-) )
What are the pros and cons of investing in SM: Castles, or Annual 4 (with castle walls) or both?
Cheers
Richard
P.S. Don't we normally get a nice money-off voucher at the beginning of the year? Hope I haven't lost mine!

As to the voucher, I don't recall ever getting a discount voucher at any particular time of year, though they do occasionally run promotions. The voucher for CC+ was for people who had bought Character Artist between certain dates. I just got mine earlier this week, actually, but the email said it was still in beta. If you're concerned that you should have gotten one, I'd contact support straight away. I've always found Profantasy to be very helpful when I've contacted their support.
Back on topic, I'd say the Annual is a pretty sure bet. For an idea of what you can do with (and without) the castle building macros, I suggest looking at this brilliant tutorial: http://jdr68.jimdo.com/tutoriels-tutorials/cartographie-mapping/chapelle-chapel/
As for SM: Castles, it contains several castles but the styles appear dated. I did notice that it comes with Castle Designer Pro but I have never seen that add-on mentioned in the last year that I've been using CC3. I haven't felt inspired to really look closely at it.
I always buy something at this time of year with the voucher that up until now we had always been emailed. It's odd, because I got my cc3+ download. The one posted on Facebook says it's run out - no chance of an update for those of us who missed this, is there?
(I have liked the Facebook page so I wont miss this again!)
I must admit I find the annuals a bit expensive, but that's because I generally only want 1 or 2 bits out of the 12 they give you. That's why I always use the voucher to buy one at this time of year.
I see from SM:Castles that it comes with castle drawing tools (presumably Castle Designer Pro) and that it mentions it works with CC3, however I also haven't seen it spoken about very much otherwise so I have been wondering how compatible with CC3 it is.

The vast majority of our offers go direct to existing customers and on the newlsetter page. We did one offer exclusively through Twitter and now once through Facebook (which lasted a couple of days, I think). The whole point of doing it (and thanks to the three or so people who took it up) was to test the extent to which people take notice of our social media posts. If we cross-posted the voucher, it would defeat the object.
But you can be assured we won't only only offer promotions through Facebook. The people who get the best promotions are customers who are also newsletter subscribers.
We sent out a resubcription voucher. The next offer will be the Early Adopter offer to existing customers - adding a voucher on top of that would be a bad idea.
Finally, vouchers never work with the latest subscription.
With regards to SM and Annual 4, my interest is in drawing maps to use in my own published adventures. I know from discussions with Profantasy that I cannot use the maps in SM in that way, so I'm really asking about drawing tools and the like.

It's a new technique for me in textured maps. One of those things where you look and look at it and can't decide if it's good or rubbish.
Any comments or suggestions?
Richard
Since I realised I only had green roofs to play with, I changed the colour scheme around a bit to match.
Still very much a wip of course

I've incorporated it into the top (tower level) view which you can see here.

My slightly strange way of doing arches / long windows is possibly a bit strange. Don't know.
As always, all suggestions gratefully received.

Hope people don't mind me constantly sticking these things up.

Top Floor.
As always, all comments gratefully received.

My other problem is that I need to make the stairs stand out more. I don't really have a good answer for stairs going up at present, though I suppose I could always make them myself.
