I'm not quite certain I want to change this map, or leave it the way it is. I do need to add forests and tundra. I haven't typed up any text to go with the map numbers yet.

What do you think of the map ? Any suggersted changes ?

I guess I should post a map of all of the Barrow Islands, up there by the ice. Where the winds blow year around, mostly cold. Hardy folks live up here, where the nights a long and the villagers stay in at night. Fisher Isle, dwarves fishing. Not what they are used to, but they have ends to meet and coal to buy.

I've loaded a better map of the Barrow Islands. One islands, two names, fixed.

The small bit is the south end of Bis-Cha Isle.

Long Tooth Island. For maps this scale, slightly ovezr 2,500 miles across, I place light houses, cities, seaports, and major castles close to where they are located. Villages, small forests, crops, etc. are generalized locations. This map shows only 2 villages... there are more, I'm just showing the general locations for village areas, without overwhelming the map with details. The ocean dashed lines mark off the fishing grounds. No conflicts allowed here by treaty.

A larger map at just over 3,000 miles wide. The 'empty lands' are several areas on my game world where no one lives, not even bad guys. A few areas have ruins.

Detail on the middle of Long Tooth Island. 183 miles between the lonely keep by the Wind Swept Coast and the nearest help at Barana Castle. Haunted ruins and forests.

Very cool, JimP. Did you just map the whole thing yourself; or did you use Fractal Terrains 3 for the outline? I ask because I'm buying it next month.

I used Fractal Terrains to sort of come up with the northern hemisphere. I exported the esult as a rectangular png, imported it into CC3, and modified it. I don't use the trace command, I just sort of follow the edges of the continents and islands by using polygon. Then fractalize it 3 times. I then use the node edit tools to move edges around, and back inside the map border, etc.

My Traveller site has over 1000 planets on it, all done by using FT3 and exporing using the built-in Cosmographer template. If you want to look at examples of the FT3 output.

Well, here is the only city, so far, on Long Tooth, Crelesh. Part of it anyway. Done in CC3, using some default and some CSUAC buildings. I woild love to have some larger sailing ships insteads of these oar driven vessels, good though they are.

deleted old and added new map. This contains 2 of the FR Atlas ship drawings I turned into symbols.

Do you have the Forgotten Realms Interactive Atlas? It contains some nice vector-style sailing ships for city-level maps.

The ships in the FR Atlas are drawings, I'll have to convert them to symbols.

The ships in the maps may be converted to drawings, but the atlas also came with symbol catalogs, there is one called FR Ships.fcw. This contains the ships as proper symbols.

The original atlas only installs the symbols into CC2 if I remember correctly, if it doesn't detect that during installation, it won't install the symbols.

I found the FR Atlas symbols on my desktop computer within CC2 and CC3. I had already put them in CC3. No idea why I didn't put them in CC3 on my laptop. Anyway, laptop is going to get a new hard drive, and the one with my files will be connected to my desktop.

There are quite a few raster graphic (PNG) ships in Bogie's Mapping Objects and the CSUAC 2, and many more coming in Vol 2 of the Dundjinni Archives, which we hope to release before Nov. 1.
