The Random city tool is nice, but I'd really like to be able to increase the size of the city it creates. Is there any way to control how big of a city is created?
Not quite what I was hoping for... The largest template is less than a mile wide. That worked ok, but as I increased the size beyond a mile, the process started blowing up. Initially it just gave weird results, but by the time I passed 6000 feet, it would crash when trying to run the random city process. The randomizer, and thus City Designer itself, is not very useful to me if I can't even make a city that's a mile wide.
One thing that I've done a couple of times is open two instances of CC3, generate a random city in one, and then copy it to the other. Then, I generate a different random city, copy it, and paste it into the other, combining the cities. I do that until I have a city the size I want. Then I tweak the result with any additional symbols or editing.
Is there a way to open two or more different maps in the same drawing frame? I can get multiple windows, but they are all of the same map, and when I use 'Open' to get a different map, I lose all the previous windows. I would like to copy certain features etc from one map, say 'The Black Isle' to another, say 'The Lands of Madness'. HELP!
Simply open two instances of CC3 by starting it again when already open. You can then open different maps in the two instances and use the clipboard to copy between them. One instance can only open one drawing, even with multiple drawing windows.
