Using DD3 and COS3 to design AD&D spelljammer ships.

I'm planing on drawing some ships for an AD&D spelljammer campaign and would like to use Cosmo3 and DD3 together. Cosmo3 has the hull drawing tools but DD3 has the textures and symbols I want. How can I combine the two so when I use the mirrored hull tool I get wood textures and other fantasy appropriate textures instead of metal?

    Hi,

You need to import the DD3 fill styles into your map. You can do this by going to Draw -> Insert file, then browse to the #System\Fill Style directory. Select the file DD3 Dungeon Color.FCW and click OK, then click somewhere in your map to insert this file. Your map now has the fill styles from DD3 in it. (Note that this map is completely blank, so it won't insert anything visually in your map. However, you can insert fill styles this way by using any map as a base, simply press Ctrl+z (undo) to remove the inserted map immediately after inserting it, the fill styles will remain behind)

Secondly, you will also need to configure a drawing tool to use this new fill style. Simplest way to do this is to click the all drawing tool button, then click the advanced button in the dialog. Now, find the drawing tool you wish to modify, select it in the list, then click the New button. This will create a copy of the currently selected drawing tool (you don't want to edit the original). Now, make sure your new copy is selected in the list of tools, click properties, and change the fill style used for the tool. Once done, remember to click save, and you have a brand new drawing tool with the fill style you desire, based on an existing tool (You may wish to visit CC3's fill style dialog before starting with the drawing tool editing to explore the different fill style and find the one you wish to use for your tool)
