So you just got CC3
I know that a lot of members have had the PF software for some time, but this is for the new member.
Hello, blather here. I just wanted to say that if you just got the software and are itching to crank out a map like you see on the forums, but are frustrated by what is happening, I feel ya. I have had the software for a while and have picked it up and put it down over and over again. There is a learning curve, but if you take it a bit slower you will make things easier. I would suggest that you open a blank map, plop down some symbols and use some of the tools to get a feel for them. You know just some basic exercises like moving, scaling, rotating and looking at properties. It can be frustrating at first trust me, I still drop stuff on the wrong layer and then get frustrated that some effect is not working. There are a ton of tools in CCS and I have not even used half of them. The 90% right side toolbar has gone untouched for the vast majority of what I have done so far. I got to change that, I am intent on doing some exercises with that side of the GUI.
Doing the map challenge for January really made me focus on creating a map I felt really good about. Seriously though, it took me a while to do just that island. However there were a lot of things I learned along the way. Like creating and importing my own pngs, though that whole process had learning curves of its own. Really I just want to say that you need to slow down a bit and take a little longer in achieving the results you want (glitches aside). In the end I think you will get frustrated less and learn more. I have become a bit die hard about learning to use the software as best I can. I mean I have pretty much every product and signup for the annuals because it is totally worth it.
