How do I use the CD3 Index?

I've created my first map and would now like to create an Index. I've got the text locations labeled and the Essentials says to click on create index then on each of the locations. Then what? I'm quite lost on this!

    You need to select the labels, not the actual locations. Easiest is usually Create Index > Right-click, Select by Entity Type "2d Text" > Right-click, Combine, Not, De-select anything you DON'T want indexed. Then right-click and Do it. The command line asks how many columns you want, just right-click to accept the default 1. Then place the index where you want it.
