How can I erase floor in DD3?

Hello,
I wonder how to erase floor in DD3. I need to cut out a small part of my dungeon and just can't figure out how to do that.

If you need to erase a complete section, simply use the standard erase command. If you have problems selecting just the floor, either hide all sheets except the one the floor is on, or use the selection modifiers (detailed in the editing chapter of the manual).

If you need to remove just part of an entity, you can either do this by using the node editing commands (move, insert and erase the nodes to set up the new shape), or if the floor was drawn using one of the drawing tools, you can edit the shape using the same drawing tool (Start the tool, and you should see that the command line offers you an option 'e' to edit an existing polygon)
  • Thanks for your quick help though it didn't solve my problem. I used the Dungeon Floor Tool and after I drew a room, I noticed that I made a mistake. I could use the undo button to draw a whole room room, but there must be a way to erase just one square of it. When I use the erase tool, it erases the whole room. Is there any way to cut out just a small portion of floor or wall?
  • Okay... I figured it out... Created new nodes and erased the ones I didn't need. After a few strange abominations it did what I wanted it to do. It's like a logic puzzle... ;)
    Thank for helping out.

    You're welcome.

A short comment to your first reply here. CC3 is a CAD-based program, so it doesn't work the same way as most image editing programs or tile programs. CC3 doesn't see the floor as being built up from "squares" matching your grid, but as one complete polygon for the entire floor. Therefore, it is not possible to ever delete just one square as you wish, because the polygon isn't subdivided that way. This is why you need to use the node editing tools if you wish to manipulate the polygon to add or remove parts of it. Note that in many cases, it is just as quick to just erase the room then redraw it though. Even if you have already started placing symbols in the room, these won't disappear if you delete the room itself and draw a new one (That is, they will temporarily be invisible below the new room untill the next screen refresh (Can be forced with the redraw button in the righthand toolbars). Hope this gives a little insight.
