Multipoly and the MERGE layer
Hi fellow mappers,
If you're careful and organised, this shouldn't happen to you. Buuuuuuuut, if, like me, you focus more on the sheets and less on the layers, this might happen to you:
A multipoly including entities on the MERGE layer might yield odd results.
If you dare to load the attached FCW file and try to multipoly the shape, you'll be surprised.
Granted, this kind of behaviour is common when endpoints of entities don't meet, or when you have duplicate entities, or even entities of a length of 0.
After checking for more time than I want to tell you, a nth LIST command showed some entities on the MERGE layer so I tried to move everyting on another layer and bingo, the multipoly worked just fine.
Next, after an undo, I moved everything on the MERGE layer. The Multipoly just erased everything.
A sage man said once ''I usually just leave them (MERGE and STANDARD) alone''. Please heed his words.
Thought I share my mis-experience...

Seriously, though, thank you for sharing. I can barely multipoly anything right now, so all the info I can gather is awesome.
