Question about specific capability of Fractal Terrains
I like the appearance of Fractal Terrains and I would love to put my current campaign setting on a globe and a format similar to what is shown.
My question is... Is it possible to make an already existing map with Fractal Terrains? If so, it it possible to do without it taking a massive amount of time and effort?
I used the demo a while back and played with it for a few days, but didn't seem to find a way to do this.
If the answer to the above questions are yes, then I plan on picking it up pretty soon. If not, I still may find the product useful in the future, but may not be for me now. I would just like to know if it would work for what I would like to do with it now.

If you can separate out your map into a few height areas as coast, lowlands, and mountains, then FT can probably work for you. A tutorial for a similar process with a related program can be found at http://www.ridgenet.net/~jslayton/FunWithWilburVol4/index.html if you'd like to take a look. http://www.cartographersguild.com/mapping-challenge-archive/18120-march-april-2012-lite-challenge-entry-csu-johnsondales-new-found-lands.html and http://www.cartographersguild.com/how-do-i/21207-painting-rivers-wilbur-made-maps.html are more advanced version of the same general process.
