Looking for Tutorials on Borders and Border Design

The title says it all, I'd like to know if there are any tutorials that are floating about that describe the design of borders for maps.
I find mine lacking and I'd like to improve them. I've read CA23, and that shows how to make them in CC3 I'm looking for more on the style and design part.
