Cannot remove elements when exporting from FT3

Hi,

If this has already been answered, I am sorry for the re-post but I'm having an issue with FT3 which is slowly driving me insane.

When I save a map in FT3 to the CC3 format, I seem to be unable to remove any of the pre-selected components (such as a border or a grid). I deselect everything, click FINISH and then EXPORT WORLD. But every time I do, without fail, the components always appear on the map in CC3! I;ve double-checked that I have deselected everything only to find that none of my changes have been made.

I've only had the software for a day so I must be doing something wrong but I honestly cant work out what.

Any help would be appreciated.

Regards, Chris

  • The layers those elements are on are frozen. You can unfreeze them by opening the layers dialog found in the lower right hand corner and unchecking the freeze box for that layer.

There shouldn't really be anything more to it than that. But next time, after editing the export setting, but before clicking on the export world button, can you try to just edit the export setting again, and se if your changes stuck. When you edit an export setting, it is supposed to be changed permanently, but if your changes are reverted when you edit it again, it is an indication that FT has trouble saving the file for that setting for some reason.
If you are editing an existing export setting, can you just try to make a new one instead, to see if that works better, or vica versa if you tried starting by creating a new one. Also, does it work better if you try to start FT3 by right clicking the icon and selecting 'Run as Admin'?
