FT3: Paint Values - Rainfall - how does it work?

Hi folks - would be glad of some help.

As far as I can see...

Tools -> Paint Values -> Rainfall

...doesn't *do* anything.

What am I missing? Help?

(Actually, the only value it seems you can paint is Climate)

Painting values will let you move the mouse cursor over the map, click, and then apply the current value shown in the edit toolbar to the map. If you have a value of zero set in the editing toolbar, then the area around the mouse cursor will be set to zero. If the value is already zero, nothing will seem to happen. If you set a larger value for the editing (such as 100), then the rainfall part of the calculations will be set to 100 for that area. This change should be visible.

Typically, it's better to use a smaller value and one of the raise and lower tools rather than the set tool. Then you can stroke over the area multiple times and nudge things toward what you're after (increasing rainfall in an area will make it greener, decreasing rainfall in an area will make it more desert-like). The basic editing tools (offset, prescale offset, rainfall, and temperature) all work in the same general way with regards to set, raise, and lower.
  • Thanks!

When I do this, nothing happens. It must be a software issue. I shall go via support.
