Random City Wizard in CC3 w/ CD3

Greetings,

I'm attempting to run the random city wizard within CC3 with the CD3 expansion. First off, my tech specs:

Windows 7 Pro, SP1
All software installed with the "Run as Administrator" option
CC3 version: 3.42

When I drop to the command-line input box and enter "City" the wizard starts up.

I can generate one road at random (I figured I would have options for more than just one road, but maybe this is the "main road" of the city??)

I click Next.

I took all of the defaults in the next window as I'm just now testing things out. When I click Generate, I get the following in an error message:

=== BEGIN ERROR MESSAGE ===

See the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

=== END ERROR MESSAGE ===

Is there an update I missed? Is there a setting I can change to avoid this issue?

Any and all help provided is greatly appreciated.

    Based on the error message, a value known as "MaxValue" is set to 0 when it should be greater than that, and that's the reason it's failing.
    I'm not familiar with the Random City Wizard, but you may want to look at the settings you left as default, see if there's any with value 0 that you can change. Just a thought.
  • I did look at the default settings. There was a '0' in one of the fields. I tried playing with that slider to no avail. I even restarted the software to give it a fresh start and made sure nothing was set to '0' before clicking the Generate button. No luck. :(

    Try a different sized template. I get a similar error if I use a too small template. (And if it is too big, you get an out of memory error instead)
  • Thanks, Monsen!

    I'll give that a shot and see what happens.
