Print Multiple Pages

I don't seem to be getting it. I'm trying to print a large dungeon on multiple pages for a large battle mat. Do I need to create a PDF to do that?

I've tried printing to scale but only 1 section comes out at a time.

You need to set up the tiling options in the print dialog to select how many sheets of paper you actually want. By default, this is 1 x 1, which results in only one sheet being printed. Here you can also set the overlap if you wish any, which can be helpful when gluing them together.
  • Ahh, OK, I didn't understand what that was for.
  • My next question then would be, is it it possible to exclude an area? I'm using the lighted effects so printing all those squares of just black is a huge waste if I want to do a round tower.

Depends on what you need to exclude. Under "view to Print" you can tell it to just print the active window (or a named view) instead of printing the entire drawing.

If you need to exclude sections in the middle of the drawing, you cannot do it directly, but what you can do is to install a virtual PDF printer, then have CC3 to use that to "print" to a pdf file. Now you can open up this pdf file in a pdf viewer, and then just print the pages you would like.
  • That sounds like a plan. I'll go setup cutepdf.

    Thanks. :)

  • I'm doing this now on a map that has lots of lights and shadows and am running into a problem. When I print to a PDF it only analyzes the lights that are on that page, not the lights that affect that page from a bordering page.

Is there any way to print to a pdf, and I imagine this will affect regular printing as well, where all relevant light sources are taken into account?

I'll be making another thread to help with saving it as a jpg which may be the way to go but my machine doesn't have the horsepower. It takes 16 minutes to turn a 100'*100' dungeon into a pdf and crashes when I try to save as a jpg.
