I took a look at a fractal terrain demo and wondered if there was a way to import a jepg file into campaign cartographer instead?

Instead of what? CC3 can only import PNG or BMP files, not jpg. But you can easily convert any jpg image into a png, by using free image editing software like Paint.NET, the Gimp, Irfanview, etc.

Kewl, so how do I import PNGs or BMPs into CC3? I was looking in the help menu and it wasn't that clear to me.

Under the Draw menu, at the top of CC3, scroll down and look for Insert File.
