Change some fill
I'm fairly certain it's been discussed here before but my searches are coming up empty so I gave up to start my own topic.
I've created a fairly large continent with the background being the same for the whole thing with the landmass tool. How do I change say the Northern 10%? I know I can add a contour or symbols but I'd like to change the fill all the way to the water line for a small piece without affecting the other 90% of the continent.
Thanks.

- Break it up into two entities, and use one fill style for each (Use modifiers such as endpoint to make everything line up correctly)
- Add another polygon on top of part of the landmass. This can be partially transparent if you wish the fill style below to show, or completely opaque. To have this new entity follow the coastline of the first one exactly, either use the Trace functionality of the drawing tools to do this automatically, or make a copy of the original entity, place it on top, and cut out the parts that are not supposed to be a different fill.
1. Choose any tool from the drawing tools selection that creates a polygon, for example one of the terrain drawing tools.
2. Click somewhere near the point where you want to start your trace.
3. Hit "t" for starting the trace.
4. Click the entity you want to trace.
5. Choose your starting point on this entity where your trace starts.
6. Move the mouse and you'll see the tracing line follow the entity - this is the only tricky part: If the line follows the entity in the wrong direction, you 'll need to reverse the locations where you clicked in points 4 and 5 above.
7. Click to select the end point of your trace.
8. Right-click to finish and close your new polygon.
You can now use the Change Properties command to give it the properties you want.
