Looks good by the way. And reminds me to start my own mapping program...
I'm so jealous. My computer died and I'm stuck with my wifes laptop with no CC3!
Here's the CC3 version of Lharach on the Eternal Sea.
And here's the CC3 file of the Yhosal-Monyr map.
You'll notice that this map is a cut-out part of my original campaign overview map - see the very first post in this thread. As the topic of cutting a regional map from a larger one comes up regularly, here's my way of doing it:
- Open up the larger map. And - on the topmost sheet - draw a highly visible (color 1), hollow rectangle across the area you want to cut out.
- Type CUTMENUON to activate the not-quite-supported cut menu.
- Choose "Cut - keep inside > Box" from the Cut menu.
- Select ALL entities, NOT the color 1 box. Do it.
- Use the Endpoint (F5) modifier to select the first corner of the color 1 box, then the opposite corner.
You should now have a map with only the entities inside and touching the cut-out box. You can now...
- use Path to Poly to close any polygons that have been cut by the box (e.g. landmasses, contours).
- You might then have to Add Nodes to match the polygons to the map border
- Scale all Symbols in Map to match the new map size.
- Add new symbols to fill in the gaps between the old ones.
- Change Text Properties to scale any text labels to the new size.
- Add any new features you need.
Here's the CC3 file of the map, which also serves as a sneak preview of the April Annual issue. Enjoy!
The shadowing on the property lots gives it an unusual depth, that seems new compared to the other screenshots of the annual issue. Are some of those meant to indicate farm fields (like the ones at the top portion of the map)?
