Help with NAN,NAN

I am using DD3 to design a map and I don't know what happened but my map disappered with the coordinates NAN,NAN listed. Selecting "Zoom Extents" does not help. I am able to find my map by "zoom to text", but I can only then mouse zoom out to look at the whole thing. If I use the scroll bars on the top or bottom the map disapears again. Reading the forums someone suggested trying to "delete>all>not>" and select my drawn image. I have tried to figure this out and cannnot fathom how to do this. My CC3 file is attached. Help!

Here you are. There was a symbol enormously y-scaled (almost to the infinity for a computer)
I managed to see it as a small line.
The zoom extents command caclulates the smallest scale to display anything, but in your case this smallest scale was quite huge.

To apply the method you describe, you usually select all (right-click, all or just press A), NOT (right-click, combine->Not or just press N) then you *guess* where the map is. For that, look at the coordinates top-left, just under the FIle menu.
This coodinate system might be in four modes
    1. Cartesian, absolute, the display looks like T:x,y
    2. Cartesian, relative to the last point : @T:x,y
    3. Polar : < T:x,y
    4. None : empty
Click on it until you're in mode 1.
Now to guess where your map lies, try to stick near the origin : T:0,0
  • Joachim,
You are the best and have just ended a couple hours of frustration. I am going to practice the above a few times in case it happens again. Thanks!

  • I have a map I did just this morning which is displaying NAN,NAN in the coordinates box, but this seems to be a different case. Oddly, I can see the map elements in the tiny preview window when I go to open the files, but when opened everything is invisible and cannot be zoomed. I've tried deleting each layer/sheet in a copy of the file and none of that seems to help. :(
  • FYI - I recovered from this weirdness by creating a new map and inserting the mussed up one into it.
