Creating smaller maps from an existing large scale map
This was covered in the sticky help topics above, but it seems like there's an easier way to do this. I know I've made smaller maps before, but it's been a while and I no longer remember how to.
Specifically, I want to take a large scale map with minimal detail and create a new map composed of a smaller subsection of that map. I can then add more detail to that smaller map without cluttering up my large scale world/regional map. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks ahead of time for the help.

Save as rectangular bmp the marked off area.
Create a new map, with those dimensions. Add a bmp layer.
Insert the bmp into the bmp layer.
Using it as a guide, draw a new map.
When done, delete the bmp from the map.
Thanks
Where is your website--lots of Crestar?
I use a variant of your method also. Tracing an exported bmp in a new map of the correct size also lets me change style for close in areas if I choose.
Good times...
