Dungeons question

I was watching Joe Sweeney's tutorials about mapping with DD3. His tutorial called: Dungeon Designer Tutorial 3: Advanced Techniques (Part C) get's towards the end and he is explaining how to create walls from arcs and such and combining them. He then says to copy the walls and place them just off the map. This is a precursor to using the walls left on the map to create a floor. The tutorial ends there and I never get to find out how to use the walls (4 pieces of walls) to create a floor. Can someone enlighten me please?
Thanks,
JSM

  • I vaguely remember having a similar problem and searching youtube for the remainder of that tutorial (i think there were like 6 or 7 parts)
  • Yeah he has a YouTube account with all of his videos. He just never finished that one. No idea why, but that was back in 2009. Can someone tell me how to do this?

    might find the rest here.

The basic idea of using a wall to create a floor is...(1) copy your walls to another sheet OR just copy them and move them off to the side of the map. (2) take that copy and explode it, so that all you have left is thin lines. (3) You now want to take that line outline and convert it to a solid shape. You can do this with the multipoly tool or by right-clicking on the explode button and selecting "line to path". In the end, you should have a solid shape that you can switch to a floor sheet and place under your walls. *Note...if your lines in the line outline do not match up perfectly, you will have a multipoly leak which is terribly annoying to fix..so when making walls, its always a good idea to use the bottons on the bottom right of your screen to make a line either begin or end at the end of another line.

Hope that makes sense...the tutorial explains it better i think
