Ok here is my latest town map. It is for a campaign I'm writing. Map is made in CD3 and some effects are applied in Photoshop.

The numbered places are as folllows (for those interested):
1. Town hall, pub
2. Ferry administration, inn
3. Ferry administration, inn
4. Pantheon, temple of all gods (mainly for three)
5. Keep
6. water mill
7. Abandoned temple ruin.

Very much like the colors.
Am curious how much is CD3 and what part is photoshop.
@Henrie61 - The map is completely done in CD3 when it comes to the terrain and houses etc. The only thing done in Photoshop is changing the colours (I think the CD3 original ones are a bit too bright, adding the border (it is the same border as in the 2012 December style I made for profantasy, but I don't really know how to add it in CD3, so I'm doing it in PS instead), applying some shadow to the forest and running the whole map through pixelbenders oilpaint filter (pixelbender is a free addon for PS). I try to add the map as it looks straight from CD3 later so you can see the difference (am at work now).
Your Photoshop version if of course bluffing. The map looks like it comes out of a fairy tale book.
IMHO, with some nice textures and strategic effects the pure CC3 could yield a more finished map, although it is quite adequate for gaming as it is (with labels added).
@Joachim, you are absolutely right when you say that the map could be completed in CD3 with a bit more work on textures and effects, but I didn't put the time into it because I wanted to finish it in Photoshop. I want the colours and feeling of the map to work with the other maps for the campaign.
