Moving things from one map to another map

I have created a world map 25000X24800. On that map I have a small island that's about 200X300. I want to copy that island (and all it's towns/mountains/rivers etc...) and then paste it on a completely separate map (with a scale of 500X500).

I have tried to copy to clipboard, but when I go to paste on the other map, nothing shows up?

So, what am I doing wrong?

After I had selected the items, I clicked "Do it", but, I forgot to actually click on the items again (when they are white)...

You don`t have to click on the items again, but you must select an origin (i.e. a reference point) from where to copy them. If you paste them into the new map, they will be pasted relative to the origin you selected. So, if you select an origin far away to the upper left from your items on your original map, they will be pasted far away to the lower right from the point you select on your new map.
