CSUAC installation

a quick question concerning installing the CSUAC files. my installation folder is C:\ProFantasy, not C:\Program Files\ProFantasy. is there anything special that needs to be changed to install them properly?

  • I have CC3 in the same map as you and had no problem installing the CSUAC following the given guidelines.
  • i can't figure this out. i reinstalled all of my CC programs, so i was starting fresh. when i looked in my ProFantasy root folder(C:\Profantasy) there was no CC3 folder. i created that folder and the subfolder structure within. extracted the zips to where the instructions say, created the menu buttons fine. when i browse the menu buttons in the program, i get the dreaded red x's. pulling my hair out because of this. going to uninstall and reinstall now so i'll be starting fresh. hate to ask for hand holding, but two days of this warrant it i guess...

Posted By: AKABigBlack... when i looked in my ProFantasy root folder(C:\Profantasy) there was no CC3 folder.
This seems to imply that your CC3 is installed somewhere else. You can check by opening the Windows registry and looking at the key:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\EvolutionComputing\CampaignCartographer3\AppPath

This points to you active CC3 installation.
  • sorted out the problem. for whatever reason, i had an old ProFantasy folder in C:\Program Files(x86)\. removed everything i could find, reinstalled and i'm all set with a base installation now.
  • i followed the instructions, and i ended up with this file structure:
    file structure
the "CC3_CSUAC" folders contain all of the .FSC files. the "BL" folders contain the sub folder structure with the art objects themselves. is this correct? still getting red x's....

Take one of the red X symbol in the Symbol Manager, "Edit" it and use List on the red X bitmap. That should show you the location it is trying to find the bitmap. Does that match your install directory?

Post your map (the FCW file) with your red Xs here, so we can take a look at it.
  • here's a test map with the red x's. looked at the Symbol Manager and the relative path matches where the symbol resides...is this correct?

By using the LIST command on one of your symbols in the test drawing, I found the path to be #Symbols\CSUAC\BL5_FM8 Pt 2 Vegetation\Trees Dead\Dead_blu-c.png

While your screenshot above doesn't show me the whole directory structure, I can clearly see that you DO NOT have a "BL5_FM8 Pt 2 Vegetation" directory inside the CSUAC directory. My guess is that you have one more level than required, and that this directory is actually inside your BL5Pt2_FM8 directory, OR that your directory is simply miss-named. In other words, the art files are NOT where the symbol manager says they should be.
  • exactly the situation. when i unpacked the zip files, i left the art folders in the parent folder. i was in the right place, just one folder too deep. thank you so much for your patience and your help!
