Wanting to make Mercs Minis maps

I have recently purchased Campaign Cartographer 3 and Modern Symbol Set 3 with the hopes of making maps like this:

I am having a tough time getting started, can I get some advice on map making?

    I'll recommend you start with the manual (Grab the updated one from your registration page). Work your way through it from beginning to end. Even if you don't plan on making overland maps like in the manual, following the tutorials in the manual will teach you the skills to work CC3, skills which you can later apply to create any kind of map.

    There are also some video tutorials available. You can learn a lot of techniques from these ones too.
