How can I tell if I've installed CC3/CD3/DD3 and Symbol Sets 1-3 correctly?

In particular, I cannot see an icon for Symbol Sets 1 and 2, though I can for 3.

Start a new map, "Decide settings yourself" and look for styles starting with SS1 and SS2 under Overland Maps and Dungeons. If they are there, your symbol sets are installed correctly. SS1 and SS2 don't get their own buttons, as they have the same tools as CC3 and DD3 respectively.

On that point, can CC2/CC2 Pro be safely reinstalled? I am trying to determine whether one of my problems is a faulty installation. Is there a posted order installation list for CC2/CC2 Pro software?

I have both CC2 and CC3 on one computer.

C:\CC2\ and C:\Profantasy\CC3\ works for me.

What kind of computer do you have? I have serious qualms about deliberately installing two different versions of the same software on the same computer.

It worked for me when installing CC2 Pro + all add-ons under Windows XP; I would assume it works in other Windows versions (for Vista and higher, although CC2 Pro is not officially supported, make sure you right-click each installer and use Run as Administrator, even if you are already logged in as an admin user).

As for having both versions installed and working in the same computer, I haven't tried it myself, but I've read several times that it works, as long as you install in separate paths.

I have Widows Vista Home Premium. 3 gigs of ram, and a very full 300 gig hard drive. I've had a copy of both at the same time running from time to time.

If you want to use Harn mapping tools, it only works with CC2. I have the Forgotten Realms CD and those are CC2 maps.

I find each is useful for different things. Sometimes I make maps without sheets, easy to do under CC2 as it doesn't have sheets.

There is no problem with running CC3 and CC2 side by side, just don't install them in the same folder. It should not be necessary though, everything doable in CC2 can be done in CC3
