Re-reading the Ca 15 I found this site: http://www.heraldicclipart.com/catalog/index1.html

LOTS of good stuf but can someone give me a hand to use these symbols as varicolour on CC3? They are .gif, this part I solve opening Paint and saving the file as .png. But how can I get rid of the white behind the image and how can I turn it to varicolour?

not sure about the varicolour thing, but to get rid of the white you need a program that allows for transparent layers. For example - in photoshop, you can open the image, create a new layer underneath (transparent) and then select and delete the white part from your original layer. You then save it as a .png and drop it into CC3. I think you might be able to do the same thing with GIMP (which is a free download), but I'm not 100%.

yeah...just played around with GIMP for a hot minute - pretty sure you can do it with that (probably have to use the scissor tool and then invert the selection to delete what you want.)

Ok guys. I have tryed to convert symbols but i am not very good at it. Can someone show me how to do it on gimp? And if possible convert and clean this symbol for me?

(I know that I am asking a bit too much, so please dont get mad)

I don't use gimp so I can't tell you how to do it with that software.

I used Paint Shop Pro for this. It has the ability to set a specific color as transparent, so black and white gifs are fast and easy to convert. I won't have time today to make it vari-color, but here is the black symbol for now.

Now I really want to know how to do it, cause the site has TONS of great are for shields.

EDIT: One question. Is it possible to maintain the contour black and turn the inside of he figure as varicolour? Please, I not asking you to do it, only want to know if is also something simple to do.

I've done it for this symbol and attached the zip. It only takes me a few minutes to do these so if you will attach a zip of the images you want done I'll happily create a catalog of them in both styles. I don't know if I could describe how to do it.

Really thank you. If you are really happy do to some work, I will post a small selection of images that I think are an important addition to the selection of figures presented in the annual. Maybe ProFantasy can even integrat them to the annual.

You are quite welcome! I enjoy making symbols as much as I enjoy mapping. The more I do, the better I get at using the art software, so this helps both of us.

I've attached the pngs and the catalog files. Unzip this into CC3\Symbols\Other. This is where the Annual heraldry catalogs are located. The symbol catalos is named HeraldricClipart.fsc.

If you would like more symbols added in the future, just let me know which images you would like added.

I mention this because, being a naive sort of chap, I tend to assume that stuff posted on this forum has no

Thanks for this Peter! I'm usually very particular about checking the EULA for art before using it. I slipped up in this case and am glad that you caught it. Creating symbols and sharing them doesn't seem to violate the owners EULA, but it is obvious it is not for commercial use.

I'm going to take the files down for now. I'll include a copy of the EULA in the zip.

Unzip directly into the CC3 folder. If you are asked to overwrite files choose yes to all.

This is getting rather large and the bigger it gets the higher the chance that I've made a mistake somewhere. If you find a problem, let me know and I'll get it fixed. I'm glad everyone is enjoying this. Thanks for the inspiration to do it Mateus!
