Some questions First map.

Hello I just finished my first map using CC3 and it went pretty good I think.

I have a couple of questions though :

1: I put in a scale and compass when I started the map but the totally look out of place now its finished. Is there a way to remove these?
2: How do I load new fonts in the program? I've downloaded the East Anglia font which was posted on the forum here but I cant seem to import it.
3: When making borders and using the trace function, how do change the direction it traces the other border or line?

Added a png of my map so you can see the issue with scale and compass.

Thanks in forward.

    1. Simply delete them with the Erase tool (or move them with the Move, Scale, Rotate tool). They may be on a frozen layer, so click on the layer indicator on the status bar at the top, and make sure the layer they reside on is not frozen.

    2. Click the Text Specs button (right toolbar), then click the "more fonts" button. This will list all the fonts installed into the operating system. Select a font and click ok, and it will be imported into the current map, ready for use.

    3. It will always trace through the point on the entity you clicked to select it. So when selecting the entity to trace during the process, always select it by clicking on a point where the trace will pass through. In other words, it will start from the point you designate as the starting point, pass through the point on the entity you used to select it, then end at the designated ending point.

For a first map with CC3 this is awesome stuff. Well done. I absolutely love it.
  • Monsen thanks, all 3 problems solved.

I also managed to make province borders within country borders.

Thanks Dargurd, any tips to improve the map?

But say im making a landborder I press T on another border and I draw the line, what happens a lot is that it traces all around the other country and includes it into the border im currently making.

That is a symptom that you are selecting the border in the wrong spot. One you press T to trace, CC3 asks you to select the entity you wish to trace. Make sure to select this entity by clicking on it's border in a spot that is to be part of the trace. The direction is always determined by the location you click on the existing border to select it.
