It's a little complicated, but it's the next in the queue after SS3 which is about to be released. We hope to have it out by the end of the year.

with the impending release of CC+, i imagine this is on a back burner, but any updates?

No current updates, sorry. The thing is, we do need CC3+ for some of its new functions, as they enable proper perspective bitmaps (skewed bitmap fills), so CC3+ needs to be out before we can tackle Per 3.
