cutting off a small portion of a map (FT/Wilbur)
I use to work with FT and Wilbur, prizing complementarity between these programs.
In FT3, I use a max editing resolution of 5000. In Wilbur I can go to 10000 keeping a good speed. So, editing size is not a problem to me.
Yet, there are situation when I'd need to "cut off" a small portion of map, to exploit a bigger resolution. For example, I'm now working on a continent-size map of 14000x7000 km. I'd want to take a part of this map (ca. 3000x1500 km) and working on it to achieve bigger resolution. After this, I'd want to cut off a part of this second map (ca. 100x50 km) as a near-topographic map.
I can't understand if I can this directly in Wilbur, or if I have to save map in greyscale, cut it with an external paint editor, reimport it in Wilbur and allocate to it the correct editing size.

In Wilbur, select the area you want to keep.
Surface>>Crop to selection should crop your document down to just that selection.
