changing size of icons
Hi, This is driving me nuts because I know I figured out how to do this before, but when I try to place a city or other graphic in my overland map, it is not to scale (is over 100 miles across). How do I shrink it down to the desired size as I am placing it. The mouse wheel zooms the map in and out but doesn't change the size of the object I am placing. Can't find anything for object size or resize object in the index or search instructions.

Anyway, to change the size of a symbol before placing it; While you have the symbol on the cursor, right click in the map. This will bring up the symbol parameters dialog. Then simply change the scale here. You can also rescale visually by holding down the CTRL key while moving your mouse (also with the symbol on the cursor, ready to place [look at the command line for other modifier keys)]
To resize symbols already placed, there is a button for the Scale command in the right toolbar.
Edit--I found it. You use the control key and move the mouse up or down.
Also, is it possible to have a simple dot for a city? I'm trying to make a really zoomed out black and white continent map, one that would fit on a 8 1/2 x 11 printed out piece of paper, and the little city symbols are cute, but they look rather messy at that scale.
Or you can make your own dots with the Circle tool on the right toolbar
A 'Symbol paramaters' popup shows, and you can edit the scale and rotate the symbol befpre placement. It change it back, click on the 'set normal' button on the same popup.
I use this fairly often in cities and towns when I want a particular building to be smaller or larger than one of the same type I already have on the map.
