Red "x" issues in downloaded catalog map?

Hi All,

I'm an old-time (but infrequent) user of ProFantasy products, but I do have CC3 installed. I was browsing the Map and Catalog Library, and spotted "Last Hold" by Richard Brunke, which is here:

However, when I download and unzip, and open the .fcw file in CC3, I just get a big ugly mess, lots of red "x"s everywhere (see attachment). I suspect that this is possibly because the map makes use of resources in one of the Annuals, which I don't have? Is that correct?

That is correct, that map is drawn using the John Roberts Overland annual.

Thanks Monsen - ah well, I feared as much. I'd happily pay for the style, but it seems that you can't buy just one month of an annual, unfortunately.

As soon as I saw the "Richard Brunke" name, I knew I wanted to see that map

I've always thought that his previous upload from back in the mists of time - the Adan Ice World - is one of the most evocative CC maps I've ever seen:

On a tangential note, I have not downloaded anything but the base software (CC3) and I still have some tiles that were included that give me this red X. Any ideas why I would get these in the base set that comes with CC3?

Which ones would this be? Can you say which symbol/bitmap fill gives you a red X?

As I come across them I'll be sure to post them. I can't recall where they are, since I've avoided using those tiles for some time. I'll keep you posted.

It's always possible that a template contains an old bitmap reference that's not available anymore - you can simply delete the fill style in question. It shouldn't come up in the drawing tools though.
