Actually, if there is a way to take something from a map and put it into another, I'd like to know about it. The only way that I've been doing it is by copying a whole map and inserting it into another one, ehich isn't what I want to do sometimes.
*Right* click on the Copy button, select Copy to Clipboard from the drop down menu, select only the item(s) you want to copy to another new map, *right* click and select Do It when you are done selecting, select an origin point (by clicking somewhere on the map or typing an exact coordinate like 0,0) to use at the point of insertion later. Open or create the new map, go to Edit -> Paste, you will see an outline of your selected items with the origin point you selected above at the mouse cursor. Click somewhere on the new map or type coordinates to place the copied items from the other map.
