Yeah, it is actually 11th century Great Britain. It's for our next Ars Magica game. I used the old saxon names for the cities. It is mostly done...just debating whether I want to label the rivers or not.
Cereth, if you do not mind, could I get a small section of your map to see it up closer? Something that has a little bit of everything. If not, I understand as well.
Really nice map, and I love the color scheme. The only thing I don't like is the squiggle running from Caer Liguald (sp?) across the map. Is it a wall? Maybe hand-draw one?
One thing that surprised me is the lack of forests. Someone correct me if I am wrong, but I thought Britain was covered in forests when the Romans arrived. So I'm thinking there would be a lot more of it standing in the 11th Century. The only other thing that caught my eye is Conruaraburg. The -burg on the end makes it look like it is from somewhere in Germany.

Any chance you could share the fcw file? I'm running a pendragon game and your map could be very useful to me.
