FT3 adding own land mass?

I found a great random seed in FT3 I'd like to use but in a large empty space in the ocean I'd like to add an island. I was trying to play with the raise and lower terrain but when I do I get nothing but mountains then when i try lowering i get a mountains surrounding holes of water.
Is there a way to smooth out the ground then using raise and lower to manipulate the land mass? I'd like to trace out the approx shape have that be just above sea level then add mts etc
Is this possible or not really?
Also if I were to bring this into CC3 how do I get it to look like a newly created CC3 standard file so that the land masses look like they do on there or will I need to redraw the landmasses tracing over them.

  • This is the best I've come up with so far for doing that. Unfortunately, there is no way to duplicate the nice continental shelf you get from seed-generated continents. But other than that, it works pretty well.
  • Thank you. That's pretty close to what I ended up doing.
I set raise to 1000 to get the land out of the water I went until the land just started to crest. I then changed the number to 500 and fleshed out the boundaries. This made an oddly smooth edged continent and I didn't like how that looked. So I selected the new continent and went to tools-> offset boarders or something like that. My FT3 is rendering out 1000 maps right now so can't look at exacts but I used that to roughen the edges. The continent still is a bit higher ground than the rest of the land masses but will work.
