Blending Contours

Im having a bit of a problem. I am new to CC3, but im getting the hang of it. I am trying to blend 2 contours together. As you can see from the picture that they end up just having a flat line.

I have tried to create 2 new sheets and put each of the contours on different sheets and then do a Edge Fade, Inner effect and its still the same result. Im at my wits end, i dont have a clue what to do.

Any help would be appreciated.

Are you sure the contours are actually on two different sheets? (check with the LIST command)
Did you remember to assign the edge fade effect to both the sheets?
Are the edge width and inner/outer opacity values for the edge fade correct? Normally, the width should be somewhere between 1-10 for medium sized maps. Judging from the scale of your mountains, your screenshot covers a huge area, so you may need to go somewhat higher than that. Inner opacity should be 100, outer should be 0. (Obviously you can use other values too, these values are just to guarantee that the effect should be highly visible)

The procedure of using 2 different sheets is the correct way to go, so this should work.
  • Thanks for the help. I figured it out. I dont know what the list command is, but if its what you get when you left click the sheets button then yeah i looked at that.

What it was is that after i draw the countour, i have to use the Change Properties button, select the new contour then move it to the new sheet. Then it works. Might be a long and roundabout way, but it works lol

The list command is found in the info menu, or by simply typing LIST on the command line. It is used to get info about entities, like what sheet they are on.

That you didn't know this command tells me you haven't read the manual properly though. You really should do that, there is lots of information in there that will aid you.
